I have been experimenting with different mics to use near the press box for our marching band. I tried this one because it is a stereo mic and overall it works great when you are much closer than what I was attempting. The auto adjust was engaged on the band's canon t7i and I never got any distortion. When I was within 10-15 feet of the front row, it did a great job. Just be aware that if you try to use this up in the stands, you will get a lot of crowd noise.(My latest mic is a RODE VideoMic NTG. I used it on the camera last week, and it worked fine, but no stereo. I am now going to purchase another RODE and start recording the audio from the sidelines and mix in the audio once I get home.I hope this helped.)
